AI Policy

Effective date: 20 June 2026

Last updated: 20 June 2026

In short

Alef uses AI to write and optimise content grounded in your Knowledge Base, and to measure how AI assistants talk about your brand. AI can make mistakes, so you stay in control: review output before you publish.

We do not let our AI providers train their general models on your data, and we never use Google data to train AI models.

1

Purpose of this policy

This AI Policy explains how Alef uses artificial intelligence in the Service, how we handle your data when we do, and what you can expect and are responsible for. It supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2

Our approach to responsible AI

Alef is built so AI helps you produce trustworthy, brand-specific content - not generic filler. We ground generation in your Knowledge Base, keep humans in control of what gets published, are transparent about how AI is used, and protect the data that flows through our AI features.

3

How Alef uses AI

  • Content Studio - generates articles, social posts, and newsletters grounded in your Knowledge Base and brand voice.
  • Opportunities - analyses competitor and market signals to surface content gaps and turn them into tasks.
  • AEO Insights - measures how often and how well your brand appears in answers from AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Perplexity, and compares you with competitors.
  • Optimisation & automation - scores content for SEO, GEO, and AEO, suggests improvements, and can assist with internal linking and content refreshes.
4

AI providers & subprocessors

We use established third-party AI/large-language-model providers to power generation and analysis. They act as our processors under contract and may process the inputs needed to produce your output. We assess providers for security and data-handling practices before using them, and a list of AI subprocessors is available on request at privacy@alef.ink.

5

How we use your data with AI

To generate output, we send relevant inputs - such as your Knowledge Base data, prompts, and selected content - to our AI providers, solely to produce results for your Account.

  • We instruct our AI providers not to use your inputs or outputs to train their general or foundation models.
  • We do not use Google user data (for example, Search Console data) to train any AI/ML model.
  • We may use aggregated, de-identified information to monitor quality and improve our own features, in a way that does not identify you or your business.
6

Accuracy, limitations & human oversight

AI systems generate text by prediction. They can be inaccurate, outdated, biased, or “hallucinate” facts, sources, or statistics that look convincing but are wrong. AI Output may also resemble content generated for other users.

For these reasons, AI Output is a draft and a starting point, not a finished, verified deliverable. Keep a human in the loop.

7

Your responsibilities for AI output

You are responsible for AI Output you use or publish. Before publishing, you should review it for accuracy, check facts and any cited sources, confirm it reflects your real experience and claims (important for E-E-A-T and AEO), and ensure it complies with applicable laws, advertising rules, and platform policies. You should not present AI Output as professional advice (legal, medical, financial) without qualified human review.

8

Content ownership & disclosure

As set out in our Terms, you own the AI Output generated for your Account and may use it for lawful purposes. You decide whether and how to disclose AI assistance in your published content; we encourage honest disclosure where your audience or a platform expects it, and you must not use AI Output to deceive or impersonate.

9

Prohibited uses of AI features

You must not use Alef’s AI features to:

  • create false, misleading, or deceptive content, fake reviews, or impersonations;
  • produce content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or that infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights;
  • generate spam or attempt to manipulate search or AI systems through deceptive tactics;
  • generate content that endangers safety or facilitates harm.

We may limit or suspend access to AI features for misuse, as described in our Terms.

10

Bias, fairness & safety

AI models can reflect biases present in their training data. We work to reduce harmful or biased output and to handle Arabic content with care, but no system is perfect. If you encounter biased, unsafe, or inappropriate output, please report it to support@alef.ink so we can improve.

11

Your controls & rights

You control the Knowledge Base and inputs that ground your output, and you can edit, delete, or decline to use any AI Output. To exercise your data rights or ask how AI features handle your data, contact privacy@alef.ink.

12

Changes to this policy

As AI technology and regulation evolve, we may update this AI Policy. Material changes will be notified through the Service or by email. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version.
